When it comes to switching makeup between seasons, playing up your manicures is the easiest place to start. For me though, pastel
& bright nail polishes are my JAM. I
literally wear them all year. So when summer rolls around, I have plenty of
colors (& polishes) that I can recommend you to try out asap!

BRIGHT PINK LIPS ft. Revlon Vivacious Colorburst Lacquer Balm
I have reviewed the shade Tease from the Revlon Lacquer balm range earlier
and today I’m going to talk about another shade I have from the range. I love the shade Tease very much... Vivacious
on the other hand wasn’t a love-at-first sight color...

Purple Lipstick from the drugstore : Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Shameless
I was looking through my YouTube
feed and all YouTube-gurus had come up with Valentine's day looks revolving around pink – pink eye
shadow, pink blush, pink lipstick. I was like, what ? No ! How boring, uninspiring & un-original. Are you really
gonna be wearing pink eye shadow and pink lipstick ?!? And why is there this pressure for Valentine ’s Day to be about wearing
pink? Last I checked, the universal color for love is RED. Anyways, this trend compelled me to bring something unique to your
feed– A purple lipstick.

Bold Red - Revlon Parfumerie Perfume Scented Nail Enamel in China Flower Review,NOTD
Revlon released a range of perfumed
polishes or "Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel" as they put it. I was
miffed at the high prices, especially after the release of Maybelline Color Show range and Faces Hi-Shine & Matte Nail Polish Ranges, but I still couldn't resist checking
them out. To be honest, the shade range in India isn't impressive. I like
bright colors but I take great care to pick out those that go with my skin and
a lot of the colors in the Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel range were either not
suitable for my skin tone or they were already there in my vanity. Then I
happened to see a bright red. Believe it or not, I did not have a red in my
vanity then, just because it isn't a color you can wear casually. But it was the only color that stood out to me & its scent was
amazing (the SA let me try it out!) so I had to pick it up.

Qty: 11.7ml

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm Tease (130) Review, Swatch
I never would have pegged myself for indulging in the Lacquer Balm range of Revlon, but the impressive performance of the Matte Balm Range (I got 3 shades) combined with the amazing online offers, I decided to try out the Lacquer range as well. Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen - Review, Swatch, EOTD, Price in India
Company
Claims
Liquid Eye Pen is a unique innovation
from the Revlon Colorstay collection that integrates the convenience of a
felt-tip pen with the dramatic effect of a liquid eyeliner. This revolutionary
pen eyeliner comes with a uniquely designed high technique felt tip for precise
and neat application minus any mess or hassles. The highly pigmented formula
produces rich and pure colour that blends in beautifully with your eye makeup

amazing control over the eyeliner application, making it as convenient as
drawing on paper, allowing pressure control to vary the thickness of your lines
with effective accuracy. Draw thin lines for subtle emphasis and a natural
look. For a more dramatized evening look, draw thicker lines along your
lash-line and look no less than a diva. Easier and faster to apply than
traditional liquid eyeliner, this Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen eyeliner formula
is smudge-proof and provides long-lasting colour that does not wear out up to
16 hours.
Directions for Use:
To apply, draw with short, feathering
strokes from inner to outer eye area. Apply as close to lash-line as possible.
Apply more pressure for bolder application. For best results, store the product
in a horizontal position.
There are
just two things I expect from my liquid liner – Effortlessness & efficacy. Literally, just that much. I’m ready to a pay
good price too, anything south of Rs. 1000, which is quite a bit for something
that will at max contain 2ml of product. So you tell me, is it too much to expect ?

Simple Pleasures: Revlon Touch and Glow Moisturizing Powder Compact in Ivory Matte
Revlon Touch & Glow compact has been my go to compact

I thought this would be perfect till I found something better. However, I
slowly started loving this one. Now, you can’t replace something you love, can you?

The New Revlon Colorstay Concealer Review, Swatch, Demo
Concealers and foundations are some of the trickiest makeup
products I’ve come across. You have to keep trying and trying till you get the
right shade, texture and longevity that you desire, and if you don’t a large
amount of money is lost. I‘ve used only 2 concealers so far and Revlon
Colorstay is my second one. One thing that stops me from experimenting with
concealers and foundations is that if you’re looking for something along the
lines of medium coverage, they’re damn pricey, even drugstore brands sell them
at an exorbitant price. Today I’m going to review a pricey “drugstore”
concealer that is the Revlon Colorstay Concealer.
Cost: Rs.725 /~ $12
Qty: 6.2 ml / 0.21 fl oz

Stuff That's NOT Working Out #2- Why I Will Never EVER Buy These 'Makeup Removers' Again
You know that Taylor Swift song which goes like, 'We are never, ever, ever, getting back together.....
When I remove my makeup, I expect that its going to be one of the last things I do that night in the cleansing department. The max I’m willing to do after removing makeup is to use a cleanser just to get rid of any residue from the remover. And that’s not the last step of my night time skincare, I follow it up with a toner, eye cream and moisturizer, if I have some pimples coming through, then I’ll have to apply a pimple buster as well. My point is, there is so much to do at the end of the day that anything which requires extra steps just pisses me off!

I’ve gone through a lot of makeup removers and the first one I tried was the old Maybelline remover & it was way too oily and really
put me off oil based cleansers completely. Which is why I came across 3 really
bad makeup removers, they aren’t completely useless, but they fall quite close
to that line. So when you go out to buy a new makeup remover for yourself, keep
these bad eggs out of your shopping
list.
My Summer Most Used Makeup Products & Favorites...!
This summer I had a
lot of fun experimenting with color, my favorites were bright pink, turquoise
and yellow. Summers are very humid in Mumbai and the first time I wore a
full face of makeup, I was sweating so much,
it felt like my face was melting off. There after I decided to go light on base
makeup and I’ve just been experimenting to see what works will in the heat,
unfortunately sans primer, nothing works for more than 2 hours. Anyways, here’s
my most worn makeup for this summer, not all are favourites though, I’ve added
my thoughts on each product so you know how I feel about them. This is a
picture heave post, hope you enjoy it!
You can also check out My Summer Skincare+Tips Post .
I loved using the Rimmel Liquid Cheek Tints because they were quick and fuss free and as long
as I’m in ac they last for nearly 5 hours. The Cheeky Glow blush in Fresh Coral is a beautiful pink shade that
suits all the pink lipsticks I wore this season. It does have a hint of coral
but is mostly a nice brightening pink blush for me.

The Sleek Limited Edition Antique blush is the only disappointing
one of the lot, though it looks good it pictures, it has glitter
that can travel across your cheek area. However it gives a glowy look to
the face and can be used to fake a glow in pictures.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Sultry (225) - Review, Swatches!
Hi everyone! Today I’m going
to talk about a product that has received lot of love from me of late and that
is the Revlon Matte Balm in the shade Sultry. When Revlon Matte Balms first
launched, I was turned off by their high price. But after swatching Sultry at
the counter I couldn’t resist buying it. See swatches and description of all matte balms here.
When I first tried it on, I didn’t know what to expect, and the lip swatches
were taken then itself. I didn’t know that I had to prep my lips, but lesson
learned, it’s a matte lipstick after all. Always exfoliate before you wear a
matte lipstick. Keep in mind that the lip
swatches are very zoomed in, and unless a person is just an inch away from
your lips, she won’t notice that much
detail.
What is matte balm? From my experience after
trying Sultry, I can say that it’s a non drying matte lipstick.
PACKAGING ~ It’s a chubby pencil with
the body having the same color as the color of the lipstick, so if you’re planning to build a collection you
can spot any shade easily. I like that the packaging is matte, it gives a more
sophisticated feel.
COLOR vs. SKIN TONE ~ Sultry is a nice dusky
pink color, under some types of lighting, it looks like a bright pink on my
lips. Its very flattering on my skin tone, it’s like a ‘pick-me-up’ lippie for me. The
color has a bit of mauve to it. It will suit fair to medium skin
tones. I have medium skintone and this color suits me perfectly. It doesn’t flatter my sister who is 2
shades darker to me, almost washes her out.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Swatches and Description of All Shades-Elusive, Unapologetic, Shameless, Sultry, Mischievous, Striking, Audacious, Standout
Revlon Matte Balms and Lacquer Balms released a while ago in
India, and I only just got a chance to check them out. In case you’ve missed
them too or they aren’t available in your locality, you can check out all the
shades in this post before you think of placing an order online.
The Revlon Matte Balms come in eight shades in India which are:
- Elusive (205)
- Unapologetic (210)
- Shameless (215)
- Sultry (225)
- Mischievous (235)
- Striking (240)
- Audacious (245)
- Standout (250)
As you can see, they have naughtier names than the Just
Bitten Kissable Balm Stains :P
(l-r) Unapologetic,Audacious,Striking,Mischievous,Standout,Elusive,Shameless,Sultry |
They are priced at
INR800 for 2.7gm. Its definitely on the pricier side, but then, isn’t
everything in the Indian “drugstore” beauty counter overpriced?
Also these smell minty, like Wriggley's bubblegum.
Now onto the swatches:
(l-r) Unapologetic,Audacious,Striking,Mischievous,Standout,Elusive,Shameless,Sultry |
Unapologetic (210) - A neon coral pink. Said to be a dupe of
MAC Party Parrot & Impassioned. Looks patchy after application. It’s a very
bright in-your-face kind of color.
Audacious (245) – A creamy orange. This applied smoothly, it
looks uneven in the swatch though. I think this one will suit just fair skin tones.

Whats trending in beauty? + A Small Haul
*UPDATE: mybeautyexpress is now crazybeautyland.blogspot.com
Its been way too long since I last did a post on my blog. I took a month long break, it wasn’t intentional at first, but life just got in the way and then I decided to take a break from blogging. I’m not fed up of beauty blogging, oh god no! I love it ! But sometimes taking a break from things can give you some great perspective and also rejuvenate you. And the most important thing, I realized that I didn't want to stop blogging about makeup and skincare and other girly things, its now a part of me that I love to share. I’m a person that likes to do things right, and properly, giving one hundred percent effort into anything I put my mind to, though life does get in the way, especially if your studying engineering and therefore the number of posts on my blog will be less, but they are fully researched and reliable opinions.
I wish all brands keep two
lines of products: one expensive range and one affordable range. Like the Lakme
9to5 and Eyeconic range is pretty affordable while their Absolute range falls
on the higher side, and recently, L’Oreal has released some lovely budget
friendly lip products-Glamshine Balms, Shine Caresse Lipcolors and Rouge Caresse lipsticks!
I didn’t expect L’Oreal to release such lovely products at such
affordable prices, I consider it to be more of a luxury than a budget brand, and I really hope L’Oreal continues this!
Coming to a brand that I’ve
begun to love –Maybelline. Maybelline NY completed 100 years this year, and the
brand is on a roll! It releases new products every month, and the best part-
they are pocket friendly and good quality. I hope MNY launches some of their
face range in India soon, I’m waiting for their Master Drama, Fit Me and the
24hr(foundations, lipstains etc.) range of products!
Recent beauty trends that you
could not have missed because they are EvErYwHeRe…seriously! :
- Pantone announced “Radiant Orchid” as the color of the year
and since then I’ve seen all kinds of purple, lavender, orchid looks and
tutorials all over the web. I'm super happy about this. Purple, a shade in the same family, is my favorite color!
- Lipstick-Lipgloss Hybrids- Last year nearly every brand launched chubby lip pencils, but Rimmel was the first one in India to launch the lipstick-lipgloss hybrid ie their Apocalips range, followed by MNY launching lip polishes, and L’Oreal joined the coup with their Shine Caresse lip colors. And these are so pocket-friendly, unlike the expensive chubby lip pencils.
- Graphic eyeliner is something I don’t see myself wearing during daytime, but maybe at night..if I dare to.
- White eyeliner on the inner corner and brow bone, one of the
simplest makeup tricks. White tends to look garish on indian skintones though, but if you
want to give this one a try you can check out Lakme’s Eyeconic White eyeliner!
- Electric orange lips, is one trend I’m shy of trying. I’m afraid I’ll look like I’ve just finished an orange gola(popsicle)! The MNY Bold Matte range has one lovely orange shade, MAT3 if I'm not mistaken, and L'Oreal Shine Caresse Lip Color in Faye is a lovely orange too.
A few things I hauled recently...

- Revlon Colorstay Concealer in Medium Deep – Rs 735 ~ I’ve
been searching for a budget friendly liquid concealer for a while now, and
sadly at its price, this is one of the cheapest ones available.
- L’Oreal Shine Caresse Lip Color in Milady (603) & Bella (604) –Rs.499 each ~ Two bright colors to welcome spring. These lipcolors are so amazing! A review will be up soon.
- L’Oreal Color Riche le Vernis in Blue Reef(613) was free with the purchase of 2 Shine Caresse lipcolors
- Sally Hansen Kwik-Off Moisturizing Nail Color Remover – Rs.385. ~ A quick way to remove nail color, and its cheaper compared to similar ones offered by Colorbar and Bourjois.
A Sleek Makeup package that I had ordered a long while back
reached my house in mid-January:
- Blush in Antique - $5.99 (This was a LE but its still available on the website for $7.99)
Have A Nice Day!

Hauls! ~ First Haul of 2014
So I’m leaving for college
today. The vacations are officially over for me, and I have to go back and
start a new semester. I’m really sad about this, for the first time I’m not at
all looking forward to college. But I’m not here to weep, I’m here to make you
and myself happy. We know all ladies love to shop, and love to see what others
have got! Well yesterday I went and brought myself some absolutely necessary
things, I wanted to splurge as well but a lot of products that I wanted weren't in stock. Also these are the first products I purchased this year, 2014, so
first haul of the year.
Here’s what I got:
Makeup...
- Maybelline Clear Glow BB Stick in Fawn. Rs.250 You know I love my Garnier BB cream and for me it was going to be the last BB cream that I tried. I actually wanted to buy a foundation but none of the shades at the Lakme, Maybelline and Loreal counters were a perfect match for me. Then I swatched this one and it was perfect, an exact match, so I HAD to get it.
- Revlon Touch and Glow Moisturizing Powder in Ivory Matte.
Rs.415 I’m so
sick of cheap compacts. I have two, Rimmel Stay Matte and Maybelline Clear
Smooth and the powders of both broke when they were dropped just one damn time. The
Maybelline one is still usable, but the entire Stay Matte powder came off the
case and was all over the floor. That was it for me, no more budget compacts.
Only
priceyreasonably expensive ones. I might buy the Lakme Absolute one next, its packaging is so pretty. - Lakme Color Crush Nail Polish in 08. Rs.150 It’s a plain white color. You know I wouldn’t need to spend double a white nail polish if MNY Color Show’s Porcelain Party was easily available. But its sold out everywhere, online and offline too.
- Lakme Eyeconic Brown. Rs.250 Yes! You read right, brown and all other shades are officially available now! The counter had 3 Eyeconic Whites but only 1 Brown which I was lucky enough to grab before it disappeared.
Skin
care...
- Creamy Coconut Shower gel. Rs.249 Brought from Marks & Spencer, it has the most divine smell, like a cookie with slight hints of coconut. I actually wanted to buy the new Blueberry Shower gel from The Body Shop but it was OOS, so off I strode with vengeance, to M & S. Just look at the pristine white tube with black coconut sketches, such a clean and pretty design
- Nivea Total Face Cleanup. Rs.99 You know the face pack and scrub routine that I mentioned here? This is an all-in-one product~ cleanser, scrub & mask. So I don't need to carry 3 different tubes with me. I’m excited to try it out. I’ve used only one product from Nivea before(apart from their lip balm), it was a face wash from Singapore and it was quite impressive.
- Loreal Paris Fall Repair 3x Shampoo. I use this shampoo regularly, but this bottle is thinner, has Loreal reduced quantities? I will have to check with the old bottle in my hostel.
So you see, all necessary
stuff. I also wanted to buy Lakme Absolute Baked Blush in the shade Day Blushes
but its OOS everywhere! Has Lakme stopped manufacturing it?
And the last thing, actually
falls in the Fashion category.
You know the Vero Moda-Only-Jack n Jones stores? At first I used
to like their stuff a lot, then I got over it, though my sis still loves their stuff.
The material sucked and everything became ridiculously expensive every season.
I was walking past their store when I noticed the sale signs. Now Vero Moda is
absolutely crazy during sales, and this was the first day of the sale. I walked
in just to see if there was something interesting and also to report to my sis
because she was working at her job then. And then I found this skirt from Only.
I was just lazily sorting through the tops on the table when this skirt just
came into my hand. It was so cute, a deep blue color with white hearts and
spots. And it was my size, something that’s a rare find during sales. I tried
it on and voila! Perfect fit. So I had to buy it, its actually a gift from my
aunt to me.
Later I went to Vero Moda with my sis and we shopped for her till
10pm. By then, they had shut the exits and only 1 was half open, for us. ;-)
Hope you liked the stuff, will
review them sooner…or later :-P

My Fall-Winter Makeup products & More..– Most used products.
*UPDATE: mybeautyexpress is now crazybeautyland.blogspot.com
Opps...Its been so long since I posted. I'm back in my college now, hence there was a huge delay in publishing posts; I'm dependent on college wifi...sigh. It was really frustrating to write posts and edit pictures but never get a chance to publish them!! But anyways, continuing with the fall-winter skincare that I had done last week, here’s all the makeup I've been enjoying for winter.
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara: Its a great mascara, especially for
my bottom lashes. Definitely false lash effect! Too dramatic to wear it to
college though, but perfect for parties and otherwise.
Its a lovely grey color, has certain lilac tones underneath. Its a good
color for fall, I use it as a base for brown colors to make them more taupe-y.
On some days I use it as it as with just a black liner and mascara.
Bourjois Ombre Stretch eye shadow in Flexi Brown:
Its a lovely brown color perfect for fall and winters, I love the gold
flecks it has. However, I get a decent color pay off only when I use it wet.
Inglot round eye shadow refills in 463DS, 418P, 378M :
(From my Inglot
Palette) They are the only neutrals I got from Inglot and I'm loving them.
463DS is perfect for highlighting, 418P is an amazing green color and 378M is
dark brown color which is a must have for me.
Faces Single eye shadows in FES00064 and FES00232:
I love FES00064(pale pink one), its a "my lids but better"
color for me, some times I use it just to give a wash of color on my lids, some
times I use it as a blending color. I also mix both of these to get a nice soft
brown color for blending in black smokey eye looks.
Lakme Eyeconic Kajal in Black:
This one is a recent purchase and I'm loving it! It has got so many
reviews already so I won't be reviewing it on my blog. Its a great kajal and
liner, I apply it on my upper lash line and then smudge it to get a smokey
look.
Maybelline Hypersharp Liner:
Thanks to this, I'm able to draw on a cat eyeliner and winged liner
which I wasn't able to do earlier with gel liner and pencil. Now I can draw them
by pencil as well, I’m yet to try with my maybelline gel liner, but its all dried up and using a liquid liner is sooo easy!
