My experience with Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Mad About Mauve

PACKAGING ~ Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks come in a glossy black & gold tube. The packaging is simple yet they doesn’t look cheap. If you own multiple lipsticks from this range, you might be able to tell different shades apart by looking at the transparent head of the cap.

COLOR vs. SKIN TONE ~ Mad about Mauve is a rosy mauve color. It’s similar to this. I think this will suit fair to medium skintoned beauties easily. It belongs to the crème finish from this range.

APPLICATION & AFTER ~ Mad about Mauve feels like a typical crème lipstick during & after application. It glides on my lips easily and needs a couple of swipes for even coverage on my pigmented lips. It gives a glossy finish to the lips, similar to other creamy lipsticks. Fortunately its not the kind of creamy lipstick that settles in lip lines. (pics are at the end of the post)

COLOR vs. STYLE ~ Mad about Mauve is a perfect everyday pink / mlbb (my lips but bettre) lipstick shade on me. I bought it because I lurveeee the color. After I got it, I realised that on me, it looks similar to another color from Revlon itself ! Its perfect for everyday wear to office.

PRODUCT vs. DURABILITY ~ It transfers easily, so even if I drink just water while wearing this lipstick, it fades significantly.

FRAGRANCE ~ Unless you hold it up close to your nose, the smell is undetectable. It doesn’t have a good smell, however its not detectable while applying the lipstick.

REMOVAL ~ It comes of easily with tissue paper / cotton pad and water. Does not require a makeup remover.

PRODUCT vs. PRICE ~
Currently the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick is,
Price : Rs. 599 / $9
Qty : 4.2 g / 0.15 oz
Availability : Flipkart | Nykaa | Amazon | Jabong

Overall Verdict : 3/5
Mad about Mauve is a gorgeous pink color, it falls in the range of pink shades I really, really love. The thing that was most disappointing about the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick was the wearing experience, because it fades easily, even if I just drink water during the time I wear it. For me, that doesn’t justify the heavy price tag. I might get some of the famous red shades like Love That Red, Cherries in the Snow sometime, but I’ll definitely buy them after I get a good discount. Albeit pricier, the Matte Balms range is my favorite range from Revlon so far.

I have tried this range.. I had Cherries in the Snow. I love and hated it, as it would fade and settle into some other shade. This looks great on your lips. Love the review :)
