Guide - Deep Cleaning Makeup Tools the Right Way // How to make your Beauty Blender spotless.
One thing I’ve learnt from being a beauty addict
is that its never to late to learn to do things the right way. I’ve messed up
correctors, contour powders before, but continuously watching makeup tutorials
has taught me how to do them right. In the same vein, I felt that I have been
washing makeup brushes the wrong way. I always used Johnson & Johnsons Baby
Shampoo to clean makeup brushes & sponges….
How To Sanitize Your Makeup !
Hi pretty ladies!
You know how we can get a little crazy
shopping makeup? I don’t think I’m a hoarder, but I definitely have a lot of
makeup. The thing is, once some of my makeup crossed a year or so, I started
feeling little icky about using it! I do keep my makeup in the best condition
and I’m sure anyone would, after all, that stuff goes on your face. But I still
felt like it’s gotten
pretty old to continue using and throwing out just a year old makeup was
out of the question. Then one day, one of my favourite youtubers aka Sineadycady,
did a video about sanitizing makeup and voila! It was exactly what looking for.
I immediately started collecting all the stuff I would need (that’s why I
ordered those spray bottles from eBay) and sanitized my entire makeup
collection. I also looked through some blogposts for further help and now I
finally have a guide that I follow every time I sanitize my makeup. Actually,
this post was supposed to go up in August but better late than never. So here I
am, sharing all that I’ve learnt with you!
What you’ll need:
1. Rubbing alcohol: Just ask any medical store. The
pharmacist I went to said that its used to sanitize a body part before
injection.
2. One spray bottle (I bought mine HERE)
3. Q-Tips/Ear buds
4. Cotton pads
5. One bowl/glass
Why rubbing alcohol? It is used for disinfection or to soothe, cool, or warm the skin. It is a type of denatured alcohol and is unfit for human consumption. Rubbing alcohol is most often used to disinfect medical instruments and human skin, especially in the case of minor injury or to prepare the skin for an injection. If left on the skin for two minutes, 70% ethyl alcohol will reduce the bacterial count by 5%. People should be careful when applying rubbing alcohol to the skin, as it can be toxic if used over large parts of the body. It can be poisonous if inhaled, so it should be used only in well ventilated areas. It evaporates quickly.
Let's get started...

Nails! ~ NOTW | Maybelline Color Show Nail Enamel in Constant Candy, Bold Gold and Colorama Nail Polish in Astral| Christmassy Nail Art Attempt ~
*UPDATE: mybeautyexpress is now crazybeautyland.blogspot.com
The Maybelline Color Show bug has bitten me too, I WANT them. The tragedy is that they are not available anywhere near to me, and I don’t mind ordering them online but none of the online shops have all the shades I want. So I’ve resigned to the fact that I’ll have to buy shades individually, and not all at once. I asked my sister to buy me Constant Candy from her store, but she needed me to buy something more so that she could pay by her credit card (needs a bill above Rs.100). Now, I have a list of things I need from MNY, other than Color Show(CS) nail polishes but somehow I forgot all of that and asked my sister what all CS shades were available at her store, the bug I tell you. None of the other shades that I wanted were available, still it didn’t occur to me that I needed a new mascara and also a compact, I just told my sister to take CS Bold Gold even though its not on my list of wanted CS nail polishes.

After taking the nail polishes I started right away with
this nail art I wanted to try. You can see the video here,
I take absolutely no credit for the technique, it is just something I liked and
I wanted to try out. The youtube user simplenailartdesigns is really amazing, I recently discovered her while browsing for simple nail art(duh!).
From the video (for which I have previously mentioned the
link) I performed only the parts I felt were absolutely easy & I could do
quickly. I tried this nail art twice with different nail polishes. The first
time I tried it was on 15th, the day I had to leave home and return
to college hostel, I was upset about having to go back so soon and I figured
any form of makeup would cheer me up.

The first time, with- MNY CS Constant Candy & Bold Gold
| (L-R) Constant Candy, Bold Gold |
Each costs Rs.75.
Few things I realised while doing this nail art:
- Constant Candy is the worst nail polish I have worked with.
- Bold Gold is AMAZING.
- I don’t have a top coat.
- I still have to take bath.
