Review n Swatches - Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gradation Mauve1
If
there’s one brand that keeps coming out with new collections that are super
affordable, its Maybelline. Right after they launched the Fit Me! collection in India, we were rewarded with Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gradations (also
known as Color Blur in US).

Review & Swatches: The Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation / Best Drugstore Foundation ?
The Maybelline Fit Me range finally launched in
India a few months ago. To the collective relief of all, it was priced pretty
well and suited even the stringiest budgets. I wasn’t able to buy much from the
collection because the concealer & blush shades were too light but
fortunately, there were more shade options in the Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation range.

For the everyday glow - Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer
If you see my complaints on other bloggers’ blog
posts, till date, there probably isn’t a product I’ve expressed more
dissatisfaction against than the Maybelline
Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer. The dissatisfaction was simply
because the product took a long time to
dispense, and that would frustrate me. However, when I finally got it to
work quicker (thanks to Khushi’s tip on NotOnlyMakeup), I could see why
everyone praises the Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer.

Multipurpose Drugstore Gems : Maybelline Clear Glow BB Stick in Radiance and Fawn
Maybelline Clearglow BB Stick was one of my goto base products for summer, when I needed
full coverage I opted for the Lakme White Intense Foundation & when I was
lazy I just used the Kryolan concealers to fake the appearance of perfect skin.
Anytime in between, I relied on these Maybelline BB Sticks. I loved using them
A LOT because :
-They have medium
coverage
-They are very
lightweight
-Blend in to the skin
easily
-Matte finish
-Long wear time
-Easy to take off
-Has SPF 21 and PA+++
which means it has broad spectrum protection. Read more in my sunscreen post.
So its perfect for giving you extra protection in hotter months.
However it has one very
big con – Maybelline Clearglow BB Sticks are available in only two shades. JUST TWO.
Packaging :
the Maybelline Clearglow BB Sticks come in a foundation stick kind of packaging, you can use a brush to take a
product from the tip of just glide it across your face. Either way, it’s a bit
unsanitary so I make sure to sanitize them regularly. I like this style though;
its pretty convenient to use and see how much is left, and you can finish up
the product completely.
Shades : Radiance
is a light color that will suit fair skin
tones. Fawn is a darker color that will suit medium to deep skintones. Both shades seem to have pink undertones. I’m NC42 in MAC and
Radiance is 2-3 shades lighter than my skintone and Fawn is 1.5 shades
darker.
Texture : They
start out creamy but once blended, they
settle into a matte finish. I set my face with a powder afterwards. These
are not meant for dry skin (there’s a
liquid variant). They are very lightweight.
I use it by gliding the product directly from the tube on my face. Both
Radiance & Fawn are easy to blend. I don't think they gave my skin any sort of glow.
Coverage : The coverage
is medium imo, its definitely higher
than what the Garnier BB cream offers. I find that I can cover small spots and blemishes with the Maybelline BB Sticks.
I do not have many imperfections on my skin except for some pigmentation around
my mouth and dark circles which require the use of corrector & concealer
separately. I do not have large open pores or acne scars so
I cannot comment how this product will affect them.
For an embarrassingly long period of time, I thought Fawn is a perfect match for me & I wore it on my whole face. In my defense, it looked perfect in the mirror !! After I had my picture clicked couple of times, when I hung out with friends & so on, I saw that my skin looked 2 shades darker and I was really surprised and I wondered why that’s happening… my skin looked right in the mirror dammit. Either the color oxidizes or its darker for me, right ? I realized that it is indeed darker than my skintone and it oxidizes a bit too. This was a huge bummer, Maybelline Clearglow BB Stick was one of my goto products & I couldn’t use it anymore :/
Because I really liked the Maybelline Clearglow BB Stick , I decided to purchase the lighter shade – Radiance. I mixed these two to get a match for my skintone. However, since summer has ended, I’m using these two in a new way – for highlighting and contouring. Fawn doesn’t have a warm undertone, my contour doesn’t look muddy. Since the Maybelline Clearglow BB Sticks have medium coverage, the effect is very natural and I like it that way. If I want to take it a step further, I set them with the highlight & contour shades from the Sleek Face Form Kit. If you are very fair, Fawn can give you chiselled cheekbones.
Weartime : these are the
longest wearing amongst the BB creams
I’ve tried. I found that it was still there on my skin 7 hours after I first
applied it. It did fade overtime, but not completely. I feel like they do oxidise a bit overtime. I needed a makeup remover
wipe to get it completely off. In contrast, the Garnier and Deborah Milano BB Creams fade away in 5 hrs and a facewash is enough for getting rid of them
completely. I have a normal skintype, though it was normal-combination in
summers.
Product vs Price :
Price : Rs. 250 / $3.8
I think that for the
product, the price is right!
Overall Verdict : 4.2/5
The Maybelline Clearglow BB Stick is a great buy, especially if you are on a
budget. It provides a medium coverage which is great for everyday wear, brunches and errands. Unfortunately they are available in just 2 colors so you might have to buy both to find the right match for your skin. They can also be used for giving your skin a natural looking highlight and contour, which again is perfect for everyday!
Maybelline Baby Lips Spiced Up Tropical Punch Review n Swatches
The Maybelline Baby Lips Indian versions with their not-so-cute
packaging have not managed to impress me much so far in terms of a “lip balm”. The
shades available are pretty great but when compared to other lipbalms like Eos
& Carmex they fall short. The new India exclusive Baby Lips Spiced Up
range however, is pretty mind blowing.
The pigment packs a punch, the formula is waxy so it actually sticks to your
lips and keeps them moisturized, and to top it off, it has an SPF 20 &
claims to give 12hrs of moisture to your lips.
My experience with Maybelline Baby Lips Spiced Up Tropical Punch:
Does it actually give 12 hours moisture ? Well, no. I think it keeps my lips moisturized for a good 6 hours which is pretty great imo. The other versions of Baby Lips barely moisturized my lips. This range is formulated with coconut oil & Vit E which maybe the reason behind the difference.
The formula is waxy & very similar to the Carmex Moisture Plus & Ultra Hydrating Balm range (minus the tingly feeling of the latter) which is why it sticks to
the lips for a longer time. Even after it gets wiped off my lips feel
moisturized.
I have the shade Tropical Punch which is a deep reddish
pink color. I absolutely love the deepness of color – it covers my lip pigmentation completely –
its actually deep enough to be a lipstick but it has a distinct balmy texture
which lipsticks lack. It is 10000 times
better than those ridiculously overpriced L’Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipsticks
(a waste of money imo) and less than half the price ! It survives snacks. The
color leaves a pink stain on my lips.
This range gives a close
competition to the Carmex Moisture Plus tinted lipbalm range i.e the
performance is very similar. The only difference is that the Carmex one is more
hydrating and the Maybelline one has higher SPF. For Rs.175 and no hassle of
international delivery & customs, the Maybelline Spiced Up range wins,
hands down.
As with every Baby Lips
balm, I have the same complaint. The
packaging is quite weak and the push up mechanism doesn’t work properly after I’ve
dropped the lip balm. I tend to drop all my lip balms at least once :/ On the plus side, the packaging color matches the shade, so if you own multiple Baby Lips Lip Balms you won't have trouble finding this one in your collection. Also, the colors seem camera shy, they just don’t look as pigmented in the lip
swatches, trust me they are very pigmented off camera.
Price : Rs. 175 / ~$2.7
Qty: 4g / 0.14oz
Overall Verdict : 5/5
At first the new Baby
Lips Spiced Up range seemed pricey but the pigmentation, formula and longevity
made up for it. This is definitely a must try especially for college girls
& office-going gals. There really is nothing bad about the new Baby Lips
Spiced Up range, if I had to nitpick, I’d say the packaging is flimsy but a lot
of lip balms have the same problem. Do try out at least one shade from this
range!
Maybelline Electro Pop Pink Shock VS Maybelline Lip Smooth Pink Blossom
Hi my lovely readers, how has your day been?
I’ve been seeing a lot of reviews on the new Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop range & I decided to add my thoughts to the pool. For us Indians, the most exciting thing about this launch is the packaging of the range. Finally we get Baby Lips with the adorable US packaging that actually puts the “baby” in the lip balm!! When I was swatching this new launch at the Maybelline counter, I felt that Pink Shock was the most pigmented so I picked it up. Funnily, there’s a yellow one that comes out as clear, why it is in the “electro pop” range baffles me! When I started using Pink Shock, I realized that it is very similar to a cult favorite that Maybelline released in India a long time ago – Pink Blossom from the Lip Smooth range. I felt that the lip smooth range is discontinued but I still see it at Health& Glow, not anywhere else. I purchased the Lip Smooth lip balm last year after hearing so many rave reviews about it. I’ll review Pink Shock in detail first & then compare it to Pink Blossom.
Electro Pop Range:
Price: Rs.165 / ~$2.7
Qty: 3.5g
Shades: Pink Shock, Fierce & Tangy, Berry Bomb, Oh Orange

Maybelline Total Clean Express Eye and Lip Makeup Remover -Review, Price, Demo
I have not had the best (to say the least) experience with
makeup removers in the past. Makeup remover is a vital part of my cleansing
routine because once you start wearing makeup, you’ll need some cleanser which
is powerful enough to take off all those long wearing products yet gentle
enough to not harm your skin in the process. Because of these high demands, I
don’t mind spending a bit more this part of my skincare, however, even expensive brands can fail to fulfil such basic requirements. I was on the hunt of a good
makeup remover and along the same time, the Maybelline Clean Express Makeup Remover had just been introduced in the market. I’ve almost always had a good
experience with Maybelline, also the attractive packaging lured me to try out
this makeup remover. I have tried the old Maybelline remover but I found it
very oily so I was hoping this one would be better.
Cost: Rs.275 /$ 4.50
Qty: 100ml / 3.4 fl.oz.

My Summer Most Used Makeup Products & Favorites...!
This summer I had a
lot of fun experimenting with color, my favorites were bright pink, turquoise
and yellow. Summers are very humid in Mumbai and the first time I wore a
full face of makeup, I was sweating so much,
it felt like my face was melting off. There after I decided to go light on base
makeup and I’ve just been experimenting to see what works will in the heat,
unfortunately sans primer, nothing works for more than 2 hours. Anyways, here’s
my most worn makeup for this summer, not all are favourites though, I’ve added
my thoughts on each product so you know how I feel about them. This is a
picture heave post, hope you enjoy it!
You can also check out My Summer Skincare+Tips Post .
I loved using the Rimmel Liquid Cheek Tints because they were quick and fuss free and as long
as I’m in ac they last for nearly 5 hours. The Cheeky Glow blush in Fresh Coral is a beautiful pink shade that
suits all the pink lipsticks I wore this season. It does have a hint of coral
but is mostly a nice brightening pink blush for me.

The Sleek Limited Edition Antique blush is the only disappointing
one of the lot, though it looks good it pictures, it has glitter
that can travel across your cheek area. However it gives a glowy look to
the face and can be used to fake a glow in pictures.

Coz plain ol' lipstick ain't good enough? Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Polish in Glam 13 - Review, Swatches, Price
Maybelline
lip polishes are Maybelline’s offering to the lipgloss-lipstick hybrids which
are trending this year. I thought of picking up at least one of these since
they are offered in sooo many colors and fit my budget nicely! I love the
L’Oreal Shine Caresse Lip Colors and I was curious to know how Maybelline’s lip
polish would compete against it since they both are sold at a mere Rs.50
difference, with the Lip Polish being the cheaper option. There are two ranges,
POP (bright colors) and GLAM(comparatively subtle shades). And these are known
as Color Elixirs in US. I’ll be reviewing the shade Glam 13 and telling you if
this offering is indeed glam or not!
What
Maybelline Says about Color Sensational Lip Polish(taken from brand website):
For
glossy, plump lips, choose Maybelline’s Lip Polish by Color Sensational.
Featuring
glossy, vivid colors that also have a moisturizing effect, this lip polish
makes your lips look fuller and more luscious. Dress your lips in a shade you
love and watch heads turn!
A
trio of concentrates delivers the color of a lipstick, the cushiony care of a
balm, and the glass shine of a gloss
Our
exclusive smoothing angora brush delivers a polished , even application and
smoothing sensation to lips
Here’s
why you’ll love it:
•
Has pure, saturated color pigments that provide deep intense color
•
Acts as a moisturizing liquid conditioning balm
•
Gives a soft cushiony feel to the lips
•
Features a built-in glossy top-coat that makes lips look fuller
•
Comes with a specially designed leaf-shaped applicator for quick, precise
application
My
take on Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Polish in Glam
13:
PACKAGING ~ The Lip Polish comes in a tube which is quite
small, and is really cute. The color looks like a lipstick in the tube, how
unique! The applicator is leaf shaped, and is really easy to use and reaches
every centimetre of my lips. I love that it’s the same color as the shade, attention to details girls!
To Fulfill All Your Glitter Cravings - Maybelline Color Show Glitter Mania All that Glitters
Maybelline released the Color Show Glitter Mania range last
week and you can read about the entire range here. I love glitter nail polishes
and though summer isn’t the time when I sport them I couldn’t resist picking up
a few of them. The colors are really nice and different from the other glitter
nail polishes out there (at least in Mumbai) and all of them seemed to be
packed with glitter! To top it off they come at a really economical price so
there’s literally nothing to stop you from buying it, unless it’s not already
available at your local Maybelline counter. One of the shades I purchased is
‘All that Glitters’ which is a lovely pale gold color.
The Color Show Glitter Mania nail polishes have the same
packaging as the plain Color Show range, except that the caps have ‘Glitter
Mania’ written on one end. The wand fans out well didn’t give any problems
during application. ‘All that Glitters’ is a lovely pale gold color. It is
packed with gold and silver micro glitter and silver hexagonal (or circular?)
glitter. All the glitter gives it a gritty texture and warrants the need of a
top coat. Because it is so intensely packed with glitter, I’m confused as to
whether the base color is primarily a pale shimmery gold or is just colorless with
silver and gold glitter. Its not the same color as Bold Gold and will suit a
wider variety of skin tones because of both silver and gold in it. Also, it
doesn’t make my fingers look darker, which Bold Gold had a tendency of doing.

Spotted! A new release by Maybelline
I was out shopping yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised
to find something new at the Maybelline counter. Any guesses?
You know how much I love Maybelline, they keep releasing
such affordable products every month. Since last September I think, after they
released the Bold Matte lipsticks (which I have reviewed ), they have consistently
come up with new products which don’t
hurt my (or anybody’s) pocket. Like, the Cheeky Glow Blushes for instance,
and the much loved Color Show nail enamels.
So here’s presenting their latest release: The Color Show
Glitter Mania range!!!!!!!!!
I spotted 7 shades, there are 8 in all, I think.
Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to be the same collection as the Color Show Brocades, it’s a new collection altogether.
Lets have a look at the shade names now, shall we?
(l-r) Pink Champagne, Paparazzi Purple, All that Glitters
(l-r) Paparazzi Purple, All that Glitters, Dazzling Diva, Bling On the Blue
(l-r) Bling On The Blue, Red Carpet, Matinee Mauve
I've seriously felt that there's a huge dearth of budget friendly glitter nail polishes in India, and by glitter I mean the blingy, OTT kind of glitter. Hopefully these will satisfy the cravings of people like me :)
I’ve expressed my love for glitter in this post here, so
needless to say I’m so excited about this range and I did pick one color. Any
guesses which one it might be?
A quick recap of the shades available:
1. All that Glitters (601)
2. Dazzling Diva (602)
3. Starry Nights (603)
4. Red Carpet (604)
5. Matinee Mauve (605)
6. Paparazzi Purple (606)
7. Pink Champagne (607)
8. Bling on the Blue (608)
And my favorites are Red Carpet, Pink Champagne and All that Glitters
Price: Rs.125.
Its still the most pocket friendly glitter nail polish out there!
And according to Nykaa’s instagram, they will be available
soon online there, so keep your eyes peeled ladies ;)
Maybelline Colossal Kohl Turquoise -EOTD, Review, Swatches, Price in India
There’s nothing I
love more than coloured eyeliners, in all
colours -the more the merrier like they say. My very first liner was actually a
turquoise one from Revlon, yep, I’m not a black kajal kinda gal. But since
then, and this was 4 years ago, I’ve
found it hard to find a good, smudge free, long lasting colour liner within
budget. The Iconic Eyeliners are few of the best I’ve tried, but
unfortunately, they’re not easily available. That’s why I was super-psyched
when I heard about the launch of the Maybelline Colossal Turquoise Kohl.
Maybelline is one of the leading drugstore beauty brands in India and their
prices are always reasonable, and the same is so for the kajal here. So here’s
the deets on this one, it’s been a really fun week with bright blue dancing on
my eyes and I have a lot to share, so keep scrolling down!
Price: Rs.249.
Qty: 0.35g
Shelf Life: 24
months.

Online Shopping Experience, Review & Haul - Slassy.com
A few weeks ago when I was in college, (this was before I
came home for New Year’s) I needed some things-make up products to be
precise-urgently. I couldn’t help myself, and despite my feelings about online
shopping I placed an order for them. The
online store that had most of the products I needed was Slassy.com, it was the
only website that had the Maybelline Color Show nail polish in the shade Porcelain Party which is a plain
white shade.
Their url: www.slassy.com
Their url: www.slassy.com
So I placed an order
with them on 20th December and paid the money online. Even after 5 days of placing the order, I had
not received any notification about whether my order had been shipped, and when
I checked online they had not yet shipped my order. I kept calling their number
but I always got the message that the office hours were over. Finally on 26, I
got a call from them informing me that Porcelain Party was not in stock and
that’s why order had been stalled. I choose Coral Craze instead and they
shipped my order on 27th and I received it on 28th. So
overall the delivery was fast but they delayed it by a week which was obviously
very frustrating for me. They should have informed me at the start, rather than
at the end that they were waiting for the product. And why isn’t the number that
they list on their website working?
I’ve previously ordered from Slassy.com, way back in July’13
and I didn’t face any such problems then. That time I was in Mumbai and the
delivery time was 2 days. On both occasions they shipped through Aramex.
this is the box they sent...
the invoice
You can see that they sent everything in that rectangular
cardboard box. An invoice was tapped on the back of the box and there was one
more inside the box. I really didn’t like that they put those thermocol pieces
inside the box rather than bubble wrapping everything.
What I ordered:
- Maybelline Hypercurl Volum Express Waterproof Mascara
- Maybelline Color Show nail polishes in Coral Craze and Nude Skin
- Vega Cuticle Trimmer and Pusher.
Only the MNY Color Show
nail polishes were bubble wrapped. :-(
Currently, Slassy.com is offering free shipping on orders
worth Rs.499, which is lowest, comparing it to other online shopping websites.
Overall I liked the fast delivery and they just need to work
on customer care and on updating their website. I always prefer DTDC courier service
so if they add that also it would be a
better experience for me.
Have you ever placed an order from Slassy.com? If yes, how
did you find it? If you haven’t yet,do you plan to haul from them?
<<I know the pics are bad, I blame the weather!!>>
