There’s nothing I
love more than coloured eyeliners, in all
colours -the more the merrier like they say. My very first liner was actually a
turquoise one from Revlon, yep, I’m not a black kajal kinda gal. But since
then, and this was 4 years ago, I’ve
found it hard to find a good, smudge free, long lasting colour liner within
budget. The Iconic Eyeliners are few of the best I’ve tried, but
unfortunately, they’re not easily available. That’s why I was super-psyched
when I heard about the launch of the Maybelline Colossal Turquoise Kohl.
Maybelline is one of the leading drugstore beauty brands in India and their
prices are always reasonable, and the same is so for the kajal here. So here’s
the deets on this one, it’s been a really fun week with bright blue dancing on
my eyes and I have a lot to share, so keep scrolling down!

My Take on Maybelline Colossal
Turquoise Kohl/Kajal :
‘If it ain’t broke
don’t fix it!’ seems to be stand taken by the Maybelline design team. The
packaging is the same as the Maybelline Colossal Black kajal, except that a
yellow and turquoise scheme is used instead of yellow and purple.
I love the combination of bright yellow with that shiny aqua color! It stands out, and makes locating the liner in my stash-and I happen to have a large stash-super easy. The liner is automatic and the mechanism is pretty sturdy, I’ve played with it a lot while taking the photos and the liner always went in and out without any problems!

Maybelline Colossal
Turquoise Kohl/Kajal is a bright, electric turquoise blue. Its super pigmented,
the swatch is after one swipe only. It appears greenish in some
pictures, especially when paired with black, but its predominantly a bright
aqua color that reminds me of the color of water on beaches like Maldives and
Bali (which I’ve seen in pics). So in short, it’s a bright turquoise liner ladies!
The texture:
The Colossal
Turquoise Kohl/Kajal is very creamy and glides effortlessly on my eyes. It
dries up quickly too, but this actually depends on your eye, I have normal
lids. Its almost too creamy, it broke when I tried to line with the liner out
at one centimetre length, so don’t do that kind of thing when you’re using it,
just pull out as much is needed(0.5cm). However, its not so effective on my
waterline, it’s a really light blue on the waterline so I prefer putting it as
a liner and not as a kajal. I really liked that I didn’t have to tug my eyes,
it definitely has the softness of a kajal pencil.
Weartime:
I’ve worn it for a
maximum of 7 hours and it stayed quite well on my eyes! You can easily get
atleast 10 hours wear from this if you have normal lids. I like that its
intensity didn’t fade with time. Also, you need a proper makeup remover to get
rid of it from your eyes and it comes off quite easily with that.
Here’s the EOTD (ignore my brows, they're going through a phase). It
adds a nice pop of color to a basic smokey eye. Turquoise will go well with
brown also!
Pros:
- Gorgeous color, very pigmented
- Nice Packaging
- Smooth texture
- Long Lasting
- Budget Friendly
- Easy to use
- Easily Available
Cons:
- Did not show up well on my waterline
If someone asked me, ‘Do
I need to buy a Turquoise Liner?’ I’d say, ‘Sure, try it out at the store first’
because not everyone’s comfortable with colored eyeliners. But since its
summer, I’ll say ‘Its mandatory to wear one!’
And Maybelline Colossal Kohl Turquoise is the most pocket friendly one out
there. I love the bright turquoise color. There is no compromise on the quality
and it’s a tad more creamy but it still delivers well. Its easy to use and you
can add a pop of color to your everyday look with it! Definitely recommended!
