Liquid Eye Pen is a unique innovation
from the Revlon Colorstay collection that integrates the convenience of a
felt-tip pen with the dramatic effect of a liquid eyeliner. This revolutionary
pen eyeliner comes with a uniquely designed high technique felt tip for precise
and neat application minus any mess or hassles. The highly pigmented formula
produces rich and pure colour that blends in beautifully with your eye makeup
and has the perfect consistency for quick application. The felt tip provides
amazing control over the eyeliner application, making it as convenient as
drawing on paper, allowing pressure control to vary the thickness of your lines
with effective accuracy. Draw thin lines for subtle emphasis and a natural
look. For a more dramatized evening look, draw thicker lines along your
lash-line and look no less than a diva. Easier and faster to apply than
traditional liquid eyeliner, this Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen eyeliner formula
is smudge-proof and provides long-lasting colour that does not wear out up to
16 hours.
Directions for Use:
To apply, draw with short, feathering
strokes from inner to outer eye area. Apply as close to lash-line as possible.
Apply more pressure for bolder application. For best results, store the product
in a horizontal position.
There are
just two things I expect from my liquid liner – Effortlessness & efficacy. Literally, just that much. I’m ready to a pay
good price too, anything south of Rs. 1000, which is quite a bit for something
that will at max contain 2ml of product. So you tell me, is it too much to expect ?
My experience with Revlon Colorstay Liquid
Eye Liner Pen:
Price: Rs.630/ ~$10
Qty: 1.6g
Shelf life: 6 months
Packaging: the difference between the Revlon
Liquid Eye Liner Pen and many other liquid eye liners in the Indian market is
that it has a felt tip & not brush tip. A felt tip means its tip won’t move
around when you apply it to your eye. A lot of women are comfortable with a
brush type of tip but after using the Maybelline HyperSharp Liner I realized that
its not my cup of tea. Even the new Maybelline Colossal Liner has a brush tip.
Shade: I have the shade 001 Blackest Black Noir Intense. I’m happy with the depth of
blackness, especially over eye shadows. I faced a problem with the MaybellineHyperSharp Eyeliner where the tip would get dirty because of the shadow and thereafter
not work well, the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye liner gives no such problem. It
gives a pigmented black line even over matte & shimmery eye shadows &
can be suitably intensified.
Application: Like I said before, the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen has a firm
tip, which I prefer, so I find it very easy to use. It doesn’t have a thin tip,
but I can still make lines as thin as shown in the swatch. If you want very
thin lines, it won’t be able to make them. A firm tip is really helpful when
you are in a hurry & can’t spend much time on your eyeliner.
Weartime: This is where this eye liner deeply
disappoints me. Just one slight rub and all of it is gone. This means that by
the time I get to my office, its 90% gone. For the price I paid, I’m deeply frustrated,
I did not anticipate that it would come off so easily. The Maybelline HyperSharpeyeliner lasted far longer on my eyes. The thing is, I never rub my eyes vigorously,
sometimes I feel a slight irritation on my eye lids so use my finger to just
soothe that area. I haven’t tried it over primer because let’s face it – who has
time to apply eye primer before work? Revlon claims 16 hours wear time….ROFL. I’d
be lucky if it wears for an hour.
Overall Verdict: 2.5/5
I find the
Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Liner Pen very easy to use & it satisfies 50%
of my needs. Its poor stay time & the fact that it can wear off by slight rubbing
of eye lids is very disappointing. I will not recommend it to anybody.
I open to suggestions of liquid eye liners having felt tip, please let me know if there's any I should try out !!
