Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm Tease (130) Review, Swatch

I never would have pegged myself for indulging in the Lacquer Balm range of Revlon, but the impressive performance of the Matte Balm Range (I got 3 shades) combined with the amazing online offers, I decided to try out the Lacquer range as well. Sadly, Revlon seems to be discontinuing the JBKBS range in India, and well before I could get  a chance to try it out!

PACKAGING ~ It comes in the chubby crayon packaging with a glossy body to distinguish it from the Colorburst Matte Balm range & JBKBS range. The color of the body of the crayon is the same as its shade, so yay!

COLOR vs. SKIN TONE  ~ Tease is a beautiful orange color on me. Its appears bright in some lights & subdued in others. In reality, Tease is a burnt reddish orange color. There is little glitter in the formula but it doesn't show on the lips in natural light & in artificial light it makes lips look more glossy~LOVE. The color and finish are two great pros of Tease.

APPLICATION & AFTER ~ Tease gives color in one swipe but there is slight difference of color visible between upper & lower lips, which does not go even after multiple swipes. There’s a strong tingly minty feeling and smell on the lips post application, consistent with the Colorburst Matte Balm range. The smell fades sooner than tingly feeling, which takes atmost 10min to stop. The finish is lightweight, like a very pigmented balm, it leaves your lips looking balmy.

COLOR vs. STYLE ~ I can’t wear this to work because its not a subdued orange on me in artificial light,  so I stick to wearing Tease off work hours, and boy do I love the color. It’s a great brightening color & a very wearable orange shade!

it looks different in different lighting, dull here

PRODUCT vs. DURABILITY ~ This part saddens me a lot! After more than an hour of wearing, Tease fades a little from upper lip but more from lower lip, even though I’ve had nothing to drink or eat. It’s comfortable on the lips, but not moisturizing at all, my lips feel dry after removal. Revlon claims that this contains 3 butters. It does not survive meals at all, will survive just water. Also, it transfers, but that’s something I expected because of its finish.

& brighter here

PRODUCT vs. PRICE ~ For Rs.800, you get 2.7gm of product that starts fading within the hour! I relented in the case of the Colorburst Matte Balm range, I do think they are worth the price, but as far as Tease from the Colorburst Lacquer range is considered, I feel short-changed.

REMOVAL ~ Its quite easy to remove, does not require a makeup remover.

Overall Verdict: 2.5/5
I love, love, love the color, the lightweight formula & the finish. Since I’m a matte lover, that later declaration is saying something. It does not feel like a moisturizing lipbalm to me. Would I declare this as a must have ? Only if you do not have a shot at finding this pretty color in a more long lasting formula. Alternatively, if lipsticks that fade within the hour piss you off, please stay away from Tease!
