I have reviewed the shade Tease from the Revlon Lacquer balm range earlier
and today I’m going to talk about another shade I have from the range. I love the shade Tease very much... Vivacious
on the other hand wasn’t a love-at-first sight color...
COLOR vs SKINTONE ~ If you like bright pinks, you will fall head over
heels for Vivacious. I like bright pinks, but there is so much maintenance
involved with them – you have to make sure your base is purr-fect otherwise any
flaws are going to look so much worse. After getting the hang of it, I started
to really like this shade. Vivacious is a
hot pink on me ! Like the name suggests, its a vivid pink color. Some bloggers
have called it ‘watermelon pink’ & some have called it a ‘berry
pink’ so the shade varies depending on your skin tone & undertone
& so on. I also noticed that it has fine shimmer, thankfully noticeable only up-close and in certain kinds of artificial lighting.
APPLICATION & AFTER ~ There’s a
strong tingly minty feeling and minty smell on the lips post application, consistent
with the Colorburst Matte Balm range. The smell fades sooner than tingly feeling. The
product is lightweight on the lips, like a very pigmented balm, it leaves your lips looking
balmy and not OTT shiny. Vivacious is very pigmented and in one swipe it conceals lip
pigmentation, you can see the difference only if you look up
close (my upper lip is pigmented). It definitely feels like a lipstick & it is not moisturising like a lip balm. However, it isn't drying either. If you maintain your water intake whilst wearing this, your lips won't dry up.
PRODUCT vs. DURABILITY ~ Compared to Tease, the shade Vivacious lasts longer and leaves a stain on my lips after it wears off. When
layered, it leaves a bright pink stain after a full meal. Mind you, it isn't exactly a meal-survivor, but you can build it up to make it more durable. Unfortunately, it settles into lip lines, so you need to make sure that your lips aren't dry/chapped before you wear this.
REMOVAL ~ Best removed with a makeup remover. Especially if it has settled in your lip lines.
PRODUCT vs. PRICE ~ For Rs.800, you get
2.7gm of product. This could definitely be cheaper, but if you want to try it
out, I would consider buying it during sales.
Overall Verdict : 4/5
I’m not a fan of glossy lips but there’s something about the way these
Lacquer Balms shine on my lips that makes me fall in love with them. Its worth
checking out, especially if on sale ! I would have given it a 5 rating but it’s
kinda overpriced & not a 'balm' as the name suggests =)
