I’m a huge fan of the L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Color in the shade
Milady (603) and while purchasing that I couldn’t resist picking up one more
because the shades and packaging are very pretty and quite unique. I’ll be
reviewing the shade Bella (604) today, its a popular shade and I can see why!
PACKAGING ~ The Shine Caresse
lip colors are housed in a shiny gold tube with a little transparent band that
allows a glimpse of the color within. If you plan to own many of these
tubes, you can easily locate a shade without having to read the cap for the
name. The applicator has a sponge
tip which is bud shaped, the centre has a little dip so that it can hold
the product. The sponge tip of the applicator is the same color as the lip
color, the applicator is easy to use and precisely deposits color on the lips.
It’s a beauty, you will love having this pretty tube in your collection!
COLOR vs. SKIN TONE ~ Bella (604) is a mix
of peach and rosy pink. The shade can vary depending on your lips, it appears
bright rosy pink on my lips. Though it looks peachy-coral in the swatches
and pics it is not so on my lips. It
does not cover lip pigmentation in a single swipe.
When I layer it, the color becomes deep pink on my lips. I feel that
this color will suit all skin tones because it becomes deeper, depending on
your underlying lip color. It is shimmer and glitter free.
TEXTURE ~ L’Oreal Shine
Caresse lip colors feel like watery stains. Bella (604) is tad stickier than
Milady, but its not that hair-getting-stuck-in-lipgloss kind of stickiness. The
product feels like its clinging to your lips but its still weightless. Even
when I put like 4 layers of this, it doesn’t feel heavy. It has a glossy
finish, like the name implies.
APPLICATION & AFTER ~ The bud shaped
applicator hold enough color for one swipe, you need to dip again for cover
both upper and lower lip. Unlike Milady, Bella becomes really deep after
application. Since my upper lip is pigmented, I need 2-3 swipes of this to
cover it, but even then pigmentation isn’t fully covered. If you have dry,
chapped lips, this tends to emphasize those dry areas as the color becomes
deeper there and settles in the cracks
COLOR vs. STYLE ~ Since Bella looks like a bright pink on my lips, I wouldn’t
wear it for work but for shopping, or errands or outings, it’s a really nice
color to wear.
PRODUCT vs. DURABILITY ~ I need to apply
quite a lot of layers of this on my lips so it does survive meals that way,
but I doubt if it would survive meals with just a single layer on the lips. It also leaves a pink stain on my lips if I
don’t use a remover.
Lip Swatch ~
When only one layer is put, you can see the pigmentation on my upper lip clearly |
After applying 2-3 layers, lip pigmentation is still there |
PRODUCT vs. PRICE ~ The L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Colors are priced at Rs.499 in India for 6ml of product. They need to be used within 12 months of opening.
Its available online at Nykaa, Amazon, Jabong. See my shopping experience with Nykaa HERE and Jabong HERE
REMOVAL
~ It can come off with water, but will leave a stain behind, to get rid of the
stain use a cleanser or a makeup remover.
FINAL
VERDICT ~ The
L'Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Color Bella is a
pretty rosy pink meets peach color and will suit all skintones. The color tends to get deeper on the lips. The product has a unique packaging and is reasonably priced. The formula feels
like a lightweight, watery stain. It needs to be built up to cover lip
pigmentation but still doesn’t feel heavy on the lips. A huge thumbs up for the
formula! I loved this range and I will definitely be purchasing more of these
