My skin type : Currently, my skin is normal. It gets dry if I’m not regular with moisturizer (these months are cold after all!). I don’t have sensitive skin, however there are some products that give my skin allergic reactions. I don't have acne-prone skin.
From the day I started using Kama Ayurveda Rose Jasmine Face Cleanser,
I fell in love with it. Firstly, the rosy scent is soft & calming.
The cleanser is clear, I use two pumps of it for my face & neck. I use it
in the morning & at night after removing all my makeup with a proper makeup
remover. According to its description, it can remove light makeup, but I
haven’t tested this out yet. It has the consistency of a runny/watery gel, I
think it feels like glycerin. It
spreads easily on my face and cleans it effectively. The first time I used it, my blemishes were diminished in size.
When I had reviewed the TBS Aloe Gentle Cleanser, I had commented that I felt
it did not clean my skin well because I still got pimples. Now, after using
this KA cleanser (and other products in my skincare) I have not experienced any blemishes/breakouts. That’s one of the reasons why I love the Rose Jasmine cleanser, it purifies my face like no other. I do get small bumps on my face,
but that is when I try out some new product or accidently sleep for some time
with makeup (yes, it happens to everyone !).
Ingredients of the Rose Jasmine Face Cleanser :
I also love how this cleanser
doesn’t dry out my skin at all, infact it
maintains the moisture balance of my skin. Kama Ayurveda claims that it is a hydrating face wash & it certainly
feels that way. I think I can use this cleanser during summers too & it
won’t feel heavy. Now, you might think how all these effects are possible when
the face wash is on my face for at most 5 mins. Even I’m wondering the same. A
lot of the ingredients are natural & therefore potent, so that could be a
reason. Salicylic acid is known to be beneficial for acne. Kama Ayurveda
website explains the use of each ingredient this cleanser is made up of.
Product vs Price :
Cost : Rs.375 -675 / $5.5 - $10
Qty : 50-100 ml / 1.6 - 3.4oz
Availablity : Kama Ayurveda website & in-store | Nykaa | FabBag | Amazon
Shelf Life : Can be used till
date of expiry
The product is quite pricey,
but that is expected since Kama Ayurveda is a luxury brand. It is available in
a smaller size so you can try that out first.
The packaging is lovely, but not luxurious. The gold etching is pretty & gives it a classy look, but it wears off with time.
I definitely like it more than
the TBS Aloe Gentle Cleanser (sold at almost same price), for my normal skintype.
I do not think it is fair to
compare it to Just Herbs Neem-Orange Silksplash
because the latter is quite cheap and completely naturally whilst this one is not.
But incase you feel that the Just Herbs one is a possible dupe for this, it is not. In
my experience, they are very different.
Overall Verdict : 5/5
I’ve seen a lot of reviews
about the Kama Ayurveda Rose Jasmine Face Cleanser & therefore I had been intrigued to try it out. So far
it certainly feels like the perfect face cleanser. I completely enjoy the
experience of washing my face with this cleanser. I would love to repurchase it!
If you’re planning to try a new face wash & don’t mind the price tag, do
give this one a shot !
