Makeup Tools - Real Techniques by Sam and Nic Chapman : THE EXPERT FACE BRUSH Review

Another day, another Real Techniques makeup brush… I can’t help it! It’s like a jar of nutella, once you have a spoon, you won’t stop. And I’m really glad I didn’t stop, otherwise, I wouldn’t have discovered this amazing makeup brush. 

The Expert Face brush is meant for application & blending of cream or liquid foundation. It makes sense to me that this works better than the Buffing Brush with liquid products. I know the buffing brush is a Holy Grail product for many, but I don’t reach for it as much as I reach for this one. The simple reason – more coverage with lesser product. You have to dot foundation on your face and run this brush over the dots, across your face. You can use this brush with BB/CC creams as well. Because of its shape, it can be used it to buff in products as well, say, in areas that you want lesser coverage. Alternatively, use it at an angle if you want more coverage. (I always prefer to dot foundation on my face rather than dipping a brush in a blob of foundation because that leads to soo much product wastage, any brush will soak up the product !)

If you a want a brush that will give you flawless coverage, then look no further. It is super-easy to blend liquid foundations with the Expert Face brush, even beginners will enjoy using it. As with most of the Real Techniques brushes that I have used, this does not shed. It doesn’t dry as quickly as the blush brush because its bristles are dense & closely packed. Here are some pics of it with the Buffing Brush by RT, just so you can compare. You'll see that from the side view, it resembles the buffing brush.

The Expert Face brush is one of my favorite discoveries of 2015 & I will surely be using it this year as well.
