Collective Makeup Haul - Highend + Drugstore | MAC, Sephora, MUA, MRL etc.

Hi there ! Last month (November) I bought a lot of makeup so I wanted to do a haul post about the products I purchased that month. However, there’s one product that didn’t reach me in time so this post got delayed and also...I got lazy because there were so many pics to be clicked! Nevertheless, I hope the haul is a treat for your eyes, as it is for mine. This is probably my last makeup haul for 2015 (a girl can hope !)...uhh wait...I have to try something from the Maybelline Fit Me Range in India...

Huge Haul : Real Techniques, E.L.F, TheFaceShop etc + iHerb and SingPost review

Its been such a long time since I showed a haul on my blog. I have been buying products left, right and center (thank you online discounts!), but I never got the chance to put them together and take pics. Last week, my sister came home from Singapore. With her, she brought a list of things I had demanded and Real Techniques & E.L.F brushes which I had ordered from iHerb and gotten delivered to  Singapore because I was afraid of my losing package in the Indian mail system.
Real Techniques E.L.F TheFaceShop iHerb and SingPost Haul and review

Here’s what I ordered from iHerb (mostly brushes)

Luxola India Review - Shipping, Tracking, Customs, COD information

I have heard of Luxola long before entered India. How? Well, I have relatives in Singapore and when they decide to visit India, they ask me if I want something from their city. Like any other relative on the receiving end, I jump 10 miles at the chance and make a list, but for that I need to know what’s available in Singapore, and what’s a better place than online stores? Luxola is based in Singapore, all products shipped from there. I’m very happy about Luxola’s presence in India, however, a lot of the products are quite expensive and I get why it’s so. In Asia, especially Singapore, western brands are pricier than they are in their native places. So, couple of months back when Luxola started promoting themselves through Indian bloggers, I decided to place an order with them. Here is the link to their site - Luxola India Website

I’ve heard of Zoeva brushes from youtubers and I was elated to see them at affordable prices on Luxola, but the ones I wanted were out of stock. Now this is something that happens quite often at Luxola, there is a chance that by the time you wait for one thing to come back in stock, the other thing(s) you want will go out of stock. This happened with me anyways; I wanted Zoeva 227, 228, 230 brushes and the Sleek Makeup Contour Kit. 227,228 were OOS & when they came back, the contour kit was OOS. I decided to order the Sleek Faceform instead. I could have avoided that, but firstly, Luxola(as of now) offers free shipping only on orders above Rs.2300 & I wanted to try the famous Sleek contouring products. When I placed an order with them, Luxola India was just two weeks old so I wasn’t sure if it would reach me since my hostel is in a pretty remote place and the products are shipped from outside India, so I opted for the COD option. Yes, yes, yes…there is a COD option(with no extra charges), so all of you who are afraid of international shipping can opt for it.
I received my order in -wait for it- SIX days!! I’ve never experienced faster free shipping than this. The package was shipped from Singapore. I did not have to pay any custom tax and I was able to track my order through their website. All the items arrived in top condition, all items were bubble wrapped together & placed in a envelope padded with bubble wrap, nothing was broken. I feel they should individually wrap palettes because they are prone to break.

Online Shopping Experience, Review & Haul - Slassy.com

A few weeks ago when I was in college, (this was before I came home for New Year’s) I needed some things-make up products to be precise-urgently. I couldn’t help myself, and despite my feelings about online shopping I placed an order for them.  The online store that had most of the products I needed was Slassy.com, it was the only website that had the Maybelline Color Show nail polish  in the shade Porcelain Party which is a plain white shade.

Their url: www.slassy.com

So I placed an order with them on 20th December and paid the money online.  Even after 5 days of placing the order, I had not received any notification about whether my order had been shipped, and when I checked online they had not yet shipped my order. I kept calling their number but I always got the message that the office hours were over. Finally on 26, I got a call from them informing me that Porcelain Party was not in stock and that’s why order had been stalled. I choose Coral Craze instead and they shipped my order on 27th and I received it on 28th. So overall the delivery was fast but they delayed it by a week which was obviously very frustrating for me. They should have informed me at the start, rather than at the end that they were waiting for the product. And why isn’t the number that they list on their website working?

I’ve previously ordered from Slassy.com, way back in July’13 and I didn’t face any such problems then. That time I was in Mumbai and the delivery time was 2 days. On both occasions they shipped through Aramex.

this is the box they sent...
the invoice
You can see that they sent everything in that rectangular cardboard box. An invoice was tapped on the back of the box and there was one more inside the box. I really didn’t like that they put those thermocol pieces inside the box rather than bubble wrapping everything.

What I ordered:
  •  Maybelline Hypercurl Volum Express Waterproof Mascara
  • Maybelline Color Show nail polishes in Coral Craze and Nude Skin
  • Vega Cuticle Trimmer and Pusher.

Only the MNY Color Show nail polishes were bubble wrapped. :-(

Currently, Slassy.com is offering free shipping on orders worth Rs.499, which is lowest, comparing it to other online shopping websites.

Overall I liked the fast delivery and they just need to work on customer care and on updating their website. I always prefer DTDC courier service so if they add that also it would be a better experience for me.

Have you ever placed an order from Slassy.com? If yes, how did you find it? If you haven’t yet,do you plan to haul from them?

Hauls! ~ First Haul of 2014

So I’m leaving for college today. The vacations are officially over for me, and I have to go back and start a new semester. I’m really sad about this, for the first time I’m not at all looking forward to college. But I’m not here to weep, I’m here to make you and myself happy. We know all ladies love to shop, and love to see what others have got! Well yesterday I went and brought myself some absolutely necessary things, I wanted to splurge as well but a lot of products that I wanted weren't in stock. Also these are the first products I purchased this year, 2014, so first haul of the year.

Here’s what I got:

Makeup...

  • Maybelline Clear Glow BB Stick in Fawn. Rs.250                                                    You know I love my Garnier BB cream and for me it was going to be the last BB cream that I tried. I actually wanted to buy a foundation but none of the shades at the Lakme, Maybelline and Loreal counters were a perfect match for me. Then I swatched this one and it was perfect, an exact match, so I HAD to get it.
  • Revlon Touch and Glow Moisturizing Powder in Ivory Matte. Rs.415                  I’m so sick of cheap compacts. I have two, Rimmel Stay Matte and Maybelline Clear Smooth and the powders of both broke when they were dropped just one damn time. The Maybelline one is still usable, but the entire Stay Matte powder came off the case and was all over the floor. That was it for me, no more budget compacts. Only pricey  reasonably expensive ones. I might buy the Lakme Absolute one next, its packaging is so pretty.
  • Lakme Color Crush Nail Polish in 08. Rs.150                                                               It’s a plain white color. You know I wouldn’t need to spend double a white nail polish if MNY Color Show’s Porcelain Party was easily available. But its sold out everywhere, online and offline too.
  • Lakme Eyeconic Brown. Rs.250                                                                                       Yes! You read right, brown and all other shades are officially available now! The counter had 3 Eyeconic Whites but only 1 Brown which I was lucky enough to grab before it disappeared.
Skin care...

  • Creamy Coconut Shower gel. Rs.249                                                                    Brought from Marks & Spencer, it has the most divine smell, like a cookie with slight hints of coconut. I actually wanted to buy the new Blueberry Shower gel from The Body Shop but it was OOS, so off I strode with vengeance, to M & S. Just look at the pristine white tube with black coconut sketches, such a clean and pretty design
  • Nivea Total Face Cleanup. Rs.99                                                                                  You know the face pack and scrub routine that I mentioned here? This is an all-in-one product~ cleanser, scrub & mask. So I don't need to carry 3 different tubes with me. I’m excited to try it out. I’ve used only one product from Nivea before(apart from their lip balm), it was a face wash from Singapore and it was quite impressive.
  • Loreal Paris Fall Repair 3x Shampoo.                                                                         I use this shampoo regularly, but this bottle is thinner, has Loreal reduced quantities? I will have to check with the old bottle in my hostel.
So you see, all necessary stuff. I also wanted to buy Lakme Absolute Baked Blush in the shade Day Blushes but its OOS everywhere! Has Lakme stopped manufacturing it?

And the last thing, actually falls in the Fashion category.

You know the Vero Moda-Only-Jack n Jones stores? At first I used to like their stuff a lot, then I got over it, though my sis still loves their stuff. The material sucked and everything became ridiculously expensive every season. I was walking past their store when I noticed the sale signs. Now Vero Moda is absolutely crazy during sales, and this was the first day of the sale. I walked in just to see if there was something interesting and also to report to my sis because she was working at her job then. And then I found this skirt from Only. I was just lazily sorting through the tops on the table when this skirt just came into my hand. It was so cute, a deep blue color with white hearts and spots. And it was my size, something that’s a rare find during sales. I tried it on and voila! Perfect fit. So I had to buy it, its actually a gift from my aunt to me.

Later I went to Vero Moda with my sis and we shopped for her till 10pm. By then, they had shut the exits and only 1 was half open, for us. ;-)

Hope you liked the stuff, will review them sooner…or later :-P

Online Shopping Experience - Review of ASOS and a small Haul !

I’m soooo happy! My ASOS Haul is here!

This is what I wanted write on 14th, when this parcel arrived, unfortunately I wasn’t able to blog because I had to pack and come back to college. Plus, I had to take ALOT of pictures for future posts (hence a few posts may have the same background).

Well, this post is about ASOS, and what I brought from it.

ASOS.com is one of the UK's largest online-only fashion and beauty stores. ASOS.com offers over 50,000 branded and own label product lines across womenswear, menswear, footwear, accessories, jewellery and beauty. ASOS has websites targeting the UK, USA, France, Germany, Spain, Russia, Italy, Australia and China and also ships to over 237 other countries from its two distribution centres in the UK.

Online Shopping Experience – Review of www.nykaa.com

Yet another online store I have shopped from for makeup. To tell you the truth, online stores have lost their charm for me. You just can’t rely on them to be completely honest. They show you all the products and after you place an order and pay the money, they mail you saying that the product is not in stock—that’s purplle.com for you. They sell shamelessly sell old products to you, aka in.loccitane.com. And then, the late delivery of products, brought to you by www.majorbrands.in.

*UPDATE: mybeautyexpress is now crazybeautyland.blogspot.com

By now, your probably like, “what possessed you to shop again, girl?” Well, like they say, desperate times, desperate measures. I don’t get access to make up brands except Lotus and Lakme in the area where my college hostel(my home for 9 months a year) is, and international  brands tend to release new stuff when I’m not at my home, aka Mumbai.

This fall, Maybelline released new products every month, like the Bold Matte lipsticks, the Cheeky Glow blush and of course—The ColorShow Nail Enamels. When the Color Show enamels released, what was I supposed to do? Just sit and bide my time till I got a chance to come home? Hell, no. I had to get my hands on them asap. I was surprised to see them available online within a week of their launch, at Nykaa. So I happily placed my order, along with a few other items so that I could get a bill of above Rs. 500 to avail free shipping.

Coming back to my experience…
Nykaa clearly mentions on their site that they use 3 courier services- Bluedart, DTDC and Aramex. I’ve had a good experience with DTDC, but not with Aramex, and you can read about it here. Also, Aramex customer service agents are rude, they never greet you with a Good Morning/evening/afternoon and don’t even address you by “mam”. But coming back to Nykaa, given my bad experience with Aramex, I called up the Nykaa customer care and specifically requested that my items should be shipped through DTDC only and not through Aramex under any circumstances. The customer care executive(CCE) assured me that they will be shipped only by DTDC and made a note of the request along with my order. I even called them the next day to confirm all this again.

After 3 days from placing the order, I received three emails from Nykaa regarding shipment of the items. Yes, I kid you not, they took three days to ship the items. It was a Sunday that day, I opened the emails and saw that my items were being shipped in 3 lots and 2 lots were through Aramex. I was appalled;  even after I’d gone to the pain of calling them up and making it clear that I don’t want my items to be shipped through Aramex, they did that anyway. I immediately dialled for customer service but unfortunately customer services has a holiday on Sunday.

The next day I called them up, and expressed my anguish and disappointment. The CCE lady assured me that everything will go smoothly, and blah, blah, blah. What could I do? The items were all shipped and there was no way to get them to backtrack and change the courier services. So I just waited for them to reach me.

*UPDATE: mybeautyexpress is now crazybeautyland.blogspot.com

The first delivery:

The item shipped through DTDC arrived first. It came to me on the 5th day from placing the order. I received the other items through Aramex on the 7th day from placing the order, typical Aramex speed.

NYX Single Eye shadow ES32
The invoice
The item I got through DTDC was nicely bubble wrapped, they actually wasted a lot of bubble wrap and paper for one tiny eye shadow box.

The second delivery:

The items from Aramex were not packed well. Aramex shipped the two nail polishes and a nail filer and only one of the nail polishes were bubble wrapped.

And did you notice the nail file is too big for the box it came in, how did they fit it in? It just popped out the second I opened the box.

Summing up my experience:

I’m not happy with the service and I definitely won’t consider shopping again if I’m at college. When I’m in Mumbai, if the need arises I probably will try it again because Mumbai is a place in which I’ve always had good online shopping experience. Also, I’m not happy with the time they took to ship and deliver the products; it can definitely be made faster. The customer service is polite and attentive. Because of my experience I can say that there is a communication gap between the CCEs and those who are incharge of packing and shipping the orders and that should be bridged.

Overall Verdict- 2.5/5

Update: I have placed orders with them when I was in Mumbai and it always took 2-3 days for the parcel to reach me, which is pretty good.

Another Haul It Is….

If you are a beauty blogger, humour me.
Do you have backlogs that stretch up to a mile or more? Do you find yourself indulging in shopping at any and every opportunity?
For me, it’s yes to both. I’ve done so many hauls and I know realize, that I should have at least posted them first. For me, product reviews take a lot of time. I like to test creams /lotions, concealer/foundations/BB creams for the span of 1-3 months to see how they perform under different weather conditions and different face conditions(breakouts, clear/irritated/tanned/sensitive skin). The thing is, I mostly have a clear skin, I don’t break out, hence no scars either. So I tend to stretch the review up to my time of month, when I do happen do get few pimples. And for brushes/tools, I like to test them for 3-6 months. So that’s my explanation for some of the delayed reviews.

Pictures of stuff that I can post, like nail polishes, lipsticks, eye shadows etc. are lying watermarked on my laptop, waiting to be seen on a monitor other than my own. Why the delay for that? Honestly, its because of three main reasons: academics, wifi and laziness. So here I am, trying to overcome the last and battling the 2nd reason, with a haul post for you guys. Don’t you just love hauls?  Me: yes...oh yes
I brought most of the stuff in the first week of September, so yes, reviews will follow shortly after my exams next week.

~What I purchased on Independeynce Day..!~

Hello everyone!! As promised, here is the post about my haul yesterday on 15th August. Also, I just want to do some rambling and some complaining so bear with me.....^_^

First off, I was supposed to post this yesterday, but my laptop started having problems. It didn't detect my phone or my camera. And it kept getting off like it was low on battery, which it wasn't btw, so I decided to let it rest for a day.

I reeallyy wanted to check out the Maybelline Bold Matte lippies but they weren't stocked at any store in R-City mall or Phoenix Market City...pfftt..

Anyways I got...

*UPDATE: mybeautyexpress is now crazybeautyland.blogspot.com

Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick 20
1. Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate 20- The Rimmel counter finally had those Kate Moss lippies, but unfortunately only 2 were left...argghhh... One was a pale nude color and the other was a bright fuchsia. Any guesses which one I took?. Price: Rs.215/-

 Stay Matte Pressed Powder
2. Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 009 Amber- I've wanted to buy this since May but every time I'd go to the Rimmel counter the SA would be absent/missing and the other SAs would direct me to their counters. This time also the SA was missing but a nice Sally Hansen SA helped me with all the stuff I wanted to try out. Price: Rs.195/-

Pond's BB Cream
3. Pond's White Beauty BB+ Fairness Cream- Normally, I ignore all products which have anything to do with fairness because that's all rubbish, but this BB cream has become quite popular so I thought why not? Price: Rs.125/-
*I wore it on 16th and it gave me a zit instantly*

The Stay Matte powder costs Rs. 230 now, and the lipstick costs Rs 250. However I managed to get it at the old price from Westside, isn't that nice? The SA told me that the next time I purchase anything I will be charged the new price...Okies ^_^.

Also spotted...
Rimmel 1000 kisses lip tint. It has a balm on one end and a brush which dispenses color on the other end. The stain feels like the one left by a marker, and it seems like it might settle easily into lines and require you to continuously apply a lip balm. Price: Rs.550/-
Rimmel gel liner. There was a single black gel liner, having the same bottle  design as Revlon gel liners. I'm not into black so I didn't get it. Price: Rs.550/-
At the Bourjois counter:
The new Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayons available in 4 shades. They had light pigmenttation. Rs785/-
At the Colorbar store:
New baked eye shadows! In some really pretty shades too. But I forgot to ask the price..oops.I saw some eye shadow pigments as well.

Online Shopping Experience Review and Haul - majorbrands.in, Aramex Delivery

If there's anything I like more than shopping, its online shopping! Its so relaxing to know that despite the extremely sunny/ stormy weather, I can still get my hands on necessities, that too by just sitting at home. Online shopping helps you become aware of brands you might not have heard before, products you wouldn't have thought of trying, products from international brands too and best of all is that most of the stuff is priced lesser than that at stores.

Recently, I did a major Inglot haul at www.majorbrands.in . MajorBrands is actually a retail organisation which is a partner for brands like Mango, Aldo, Aldo Accessories, Charles & Keith, Inglot, La Senza, Bebe, Nine West and Promod in India.

Maybelline Haul!!!

*UPDATE: mybeautyexpress is now crazybeautyland.blogspot.com

Hello sweeties,

Okay, first off I'd like to thank my mom because she purchased all this for me. She is a really unique person. She was staying in Singapore for some time and when she announced that she was planning to return, I mailed her a list of things I wanted from Singapore. So my kind and very generous mother, roamed around Singapore malls on Mother's Day to buy me all the things I needed. A subset of the list were Maybelline products. My mom has no clue when it comes to make up, but she hunted down the store and brought me the stuff anyways. And I'm so so so grateful for that, and of course I feel guilty that she spent Mother's Day shopping for me, but I plan to make up for it now that I'm at home. And yes, these products were brought two weeks ago, but I got home yesterday. The first thing I did was take out all of these and just stare at them happily, and then, when my mom woke up ( I reached at 6 am), I covered her in kisses and hugs.
So here's the haul ladies,

maybelline singapore drugstore haul

[UPDATE: I have updated the list with the links to the review pages!]

*UPDATE: mybeautyexpress is now crazybeautyland.blogspot.com

Now I know that The Falsies and Anti-Oxidant Berry are available in India. Actually I wanted the lip balm in a flavor called Smoothing Berry but the SA gave this one to my mom. Also, the Falsies were unavailable at any store near me, and I didn't want to buy it online, so I asked my mom had to get.
The gel eye liner is not the one that's available in India yet, its a new formula one which is supposed to last for 36hr. I wonder who wears make up that long! The Tough as Taupe eye tattoo is a shade which is not available in India. I had a bad experience with the Bold Gold color tattoo, but I wanted this anyways because I feel that taupe is a very wearable yet versatile shade. Plus, I believe in second chances !
And, the Master Drama Cream Pencils!! I heard they are limited edition in the US but they are also available in Singapore. I felt like I just had to have them, I love the name and I couldn't wait for them to release in India, if Maybelline planned to do so at all. So, like they say-Strike the iron while its still hot! I decided to put them on the list, lest they become sold out in Singapore. I'm so happy my mom was able to get them!!!

I'm going ga-ga over these products!!!! I have already started on the gel eye liner and the eye shadow tattoo. Watch out for the detailed reviews!!
